Hello. I'm the Voice Engineering Lead for Nabu Casa, interested in Artificial Intelligence (both symbolic and statistical) and voice assistants. I install Linux on anything I can, and use Emacs to write code in style.
I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science and Cognitive Science from Indiana University in 2015. My dissertation focused on computationally modeling how programmers read and understand code. I received my B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Wyoming in 2006. From 2003-2007, I did contract programming for businesses and government offices in the Wyoming and Colorado area. Before going to IU in 2008, I worked as a consultant for Logical Information Machines.
In my free time (when I'm not dad-ing), I like to work on Rhasspy for home automation and to draw silly things with Inkscape.
- Rhasspy - voice assistant toolkit for many human languages
- Piper - a fast, local, neural text to speech engine
- Wyoming Protocol - peer-to-peer protocol for voice services
- voice2json - command-line tools for voice
- gate.io - text to speech server for different languages
- gruut - text to phoneme tool
